KLIF is proud to provide an adults only retreat to all of it’s guests. We kindly request for you to attend your appointments alone and arrange childcare for the duration of your appointments. This policy is agreed to by all guests when booking with a Service Provider. Guests that attend their appointment with a +1 or minor will be asked to reschedule and a cancellation fee will apply.
-
It’s important you feel relaxed and calm coming into KLIF to embrace the retreat feel we are creating for you.
If you could arrive makeup free this will reduce cutting into your appointment time, however we do have a basin for you to wash your face prior to your appointment. If you know you will need to remove makeup please try to arrive early with enough time to do so in salon.
Getting a lash treatment? Please avoid the use of waterproof mascara in the week leading up to your appointment.
Avoid drinking caffeinated beverages prior to your appointment as caffeine causes your eyelids to flutter which is a safety concern. In extreme cases where guest’s eyelids are not able to close or relax for the service we have had to reschedule guests to another day. In this instance a cancellation fee applies.
-
No, we kindly ask that contact lenses are removed for any lash treatment. Wearing contact lenses during your appointment can cause discomfort and may increase the risk of irritation due to exposure to products or treatment processes.
We recommend bringing a spare pair of lenses or a case to safely store them during your appointment. Alternatively, you can opt to wear glasses to your appointment if needed. Your comfort and safety are our top priority!

Eyelash Extensions FAQ
-
We’ve got you covered! We offer three lash ranges: classic, hybrid, and volume, with endless styles to choose from in each.
To help you decide, refer to our Lash Guide for more information on which type might suit you best. At your first appointment, we’ll also have an in-depth consultation to find the perfect style, curl, and shape for your facial features and desired look.
Still unsure? No worries—give us a call, and we’ll help you choose the right set! 😊
-
When applied and cared for properly, lash extensions can last as long as your natural lashes, which follow a 5–8 week growth cycle. However, they won’t look perfect for that long!
As your natural lashes grow, extensions grow out too. Waiting too long between refills can lead to twisting, turning, or a messy look. For this reason:
We recommend starting with 2-week refills for new clients, then transitioning to every 3–4 weeks based on your growth and retention.
Any longer than 4 weeks will require a new set, as the outgrown lashes will need to be safely removed and replaced.
Regular refills will keep your lashes looking full, fresh, and fabulous! 😊
-
To keep your lash extensions looking their best, here’s what we recommend:
Daily Cleansing: Wash your lashes every night with a lash-approved cleanser to remove oils, dirt, and makeup. If you wear makeup, clean them twice a day—morning and night.
Brushing: After washing and fan drying your lashes, gently brush them to keep them straight and aligned with your natural lashes.
Tools on Hand: Don’t have a lash-approved cleanser or handheld lash fan? No worries! You can grab these essentials in the salon.
With the right care, your lashes will stay fresh and fabulous for longer! 😊
-
Refill appointments are time-based and come in three options: Express, Standard, and Extended.
The time needed depends on your lash style (Classic, Hybrid, or Volume) and how well you care for your lashes. Refills typically range from 45 minutes to 2 hours.
Keep in mind:
The better you care for your lashes, the quicker your refill can be.
The longer you leave between refills, the more time you’ll need to restore them to their full glory.
If you're unsure which option to book, feel free to reach out—we're here to help! 😊

Short answer: No. Your eyelash extensions are designed to replace the need for mascara in your daily makeup routine.
Using mascara on your extensions can break down the adhesive and reduce their lifespan. However, you can wear mascara on your lower lash line, as long as you don’t have extensions applied there.
Invest in your lashes and let them do all the work for a flawless, fuss-free look! 😊
-
We kindly ask that you arrive fresh-faced with clean, makeup-free lashes. This ensures the adhesive bonds properly to your natural lashes and prevents the eyepads from slipping, which can cause irritation.
Pro Tip: Avoid wearing waterproof mascara in the week leading up to your first lash appointment—it can leave behind residue that’s tough to remove.
A clean canvas is key to flawless, long-lasting lashes! 😊
-
Lash extensions aren’t for everyone, but we’re happy to chat and help you decide if they’re right for you. In some cases, we might recommend a lash lift instead. You might want to avoid extensions if you:
Have had an allergic reaction to gel pads or lash adhesive in the past.
Have sensitive eyes prone to swelling, itching, or watering.
Have an eye infection, conjunctivitis, or any medical condition affecting your lash or eye health.
Recently had eye surgery or cosmetic eye treatments (e.g., eyeliner tattoo or lash perm).
Can’t lay on your back for extended periods due to pregnancy or back problems.
Experience claustrophobia, as your eyes must remain closed for up to 3 hours, depending on the set.
Are unable to follow aftercare recommendations, such as avoiding oil-based products.
We’ll always work with you to find the best option for your needs! 😊
-
To keep your lashes looking their best, follow these aftercare tips:
First Hour: Keep your lashes dry for the first hour after application. Then wash them with a lash-approved cleanser (available in the salon) to remove any adhesive vapors and minimize the risk of a reaction.
48-Hour Restrictions: Avoid swimming, steam rooms, saunas, or facials during this time.
Oil-Free Products Only: Use water-based cleansers, makeup, and removers. Oil, cream, or wax-based products can weaken the adhesive and shorten lash longevity.
Daily Cleansing: Use an eyelash extension-approved cleanser daily to keep lashes clean and prevent eye infections or lash mites.
Drying & Brushing: After washing your face, gently fan your lashes dry, then brush them with a spoolie/lash brush to keep them neat.
Avoid Exfoliants: Keep exfoliating products (like AHAs, Glycolic Acid, and Salicylic Acid) away from your eye area.
No Curlers or Mascara: Avoid using eyelash curlers or mascara, as they can damage the extensions.
Hands Off: Don’t rub, touch, or pick at your lashes—it can become addictive, so just don’t start!
Report Issues: Let your stylist know immediately if you experience irritation or discomfort.
Refills: Pre-book refills every 2–3 weeks to maintain fullness and longevity.
Following these steps will keep your lashes healthy, long-lasting, and fabulous! 😊
-
If applied improperly, yes, there is a risk of damaging your natural lashes. However, at KLIF, you can rest assured your lashes are in expert hands.
Our team is highly experienced and trained through the LashJoy Academy, a program led by the 2019 ABIA Educator of the Year. We follow the Golden Rules of lash application to ensure your natural lashes remain safe and healthy.
But remember: it takes two to tango! While we’ll provide a beautiful and high-quality lash set, proper aftercare is your responsibility once you leave the salon. Following our aftercare guidelines is crucial for maintaining the health and safety of your natural lashes.
-
Unfortunately, they’re real. Meet Demodex folliculorum and Demodex brevis—microscopic mites that naturally live in your hair follicles and feed on dead skin cells.
Don’t panic, though! These mites are present in everyone and typically harmless. Problems only arise when they multiply excessively, which can lead to irritation or skin issues.
The best defense? Daily lash cleansing! This is essential whether you wear extensions or not and should be a part of your regular skincare routine to keep your lashes and skin healthy.
Clean lashes are happy lashes! 😊
Lash Lift & Tints
-
The lash lift procedure has revolutionized old, inadequate perming techniques. Using silicone pads instead of perm rods, this new technique can lift, straighten or curl and lengthen your natural lashes to create a brighter, fuller, wide eyed look. No need for extensions and the associated aftercare, this will last you 6-8 weeks.
-
The lash lift & tint procedure can take anywhere between 50mins – 70mins from start to finish.
-
To get the best results, here’s how to prep for your lash lift:
Arrive makeup-free with clean, bare lashes.
If you wear contact lenses, they must be removed prior to your appointment, so bring a case to store them.
Avoid caffeine for at least 3 hours before your appointment, as it can cause eye fluttering, making the process more challenging.
-
Yes, you can wear mascara after a lash lift! However, your lashes must remain dry and untouched for the first 48 hours following your treatment, as they are still setting during this time.
After that, you’re free to apply mascara. We recommend using Elleevate Mascara, available in the salon, as it’s specifically designed to complement lash lift treatments. Pairing it with the Elleeplex Advanced Treatment will keep your lashes healthier than ever! Just avoid waterproof mascara, as it can be harsh and difficult to remove.
-
While lash lifts are safe for most people, the following conditions may prevent you from receiving the treatment. Please inform your lash artist if any of these apply to you:
Eye infections or disorders
Recent eye surgery
Allergy to product
Very sensitive eyes
Hay fever or watery eyes
Conjunctivitis or styes
Dry eye syndrome
Prescribed medicated eye drops
Pregnancy (first trimester)
Thyroxin medication (in some cases, it can prevent lashes from curling)
Contact lenses (must be removed for the treatment)
If you’re unsure whether a lash lift is suitable for you, feel free to contact us for advice—we’re happy to help! 😊
